Vorhangmaxx Measuring Guide: Measuring the Correct Width and Height

With this measuring guide, you can easily determine the right dimensions for your Vorhangmaxx curtains. Follow the steps below carefully to achieve the best results.

Required Materials

  • Tape measure
  • Pen and paper or a phone/note app
  • Chair, folding step, or ladder for higher measurements

Measuring Width

Always measure the entire width of the rod or track. Additional Width (Optional): Add 15-20 cm on both sides to achieve an even more luxurious look and minimise light intrusion on the sides.
Example:

  • Width of the rod/track: 150 cm
  • Additional Width: 15 cm x 2 = 30 cm
  • Total Width: 180 cm

Measuring Height

Measure from the top edge of the rod or track. Check the height at several points: Floors are sometimes uneven. Therefore, measure at least three places (left, middle, right) and use the smallest value. Choose one of the two suggested heights:

  • Above the Floor (recommended): Let the curtains hang 2-3 cm above the floor. This prevents contact with dust and makes it easier to open and close.
  • With Puddling: Add 5-15 cm to the measured height if you want a more luxurious look. Note that this option requires more care.
    Example:
  • Height from the rod to the floor: 240 cm
  • For above the floor: 240 cm - 3 cm = 237 cm
  • For puddling: 240 cm + 10 cm = 250 cm

Tips for Different Lengths

  • Above the Floor: Practical and ideal for high-traffic areas or where curtains are frequently opened and closed. Prevents contact with dust or moisture on the floor.
  • With Puddling: Provides a lush and classic look. Suitable for rooms such as living rooms or bedrooms. Note additional care required, such as occasionally shaking or cleaning the puddled fabric.
